In The Morning Light

Written By: David Rhodes

I remember when we first met
The sparks flew fast – I can’t forget
And the passion lasted all through the night
We were still holding on in the morning light

But you have to be careful of what you got
A white hot flame will burn too hot
And a fire that burns way too fast
Has nothing left and it won’t last

Love is like a wild bull ride
You grab on quick and hold on tight
For some the ride is not too long
One day love’s there – the next it’s gone

With the twists and turns you never know
Which way the ride is going to go
Will it last for you throughout the years
Or end tomorrow with falling tears

And you’ll be glad it found you
When love is all around you
            In the morning light

Now I know people who think that love
Is something they need nothing of
But you can’t turn and run away
We all need love each and every day

‘Cause don’t you know that it feels good
To look in the eyes of someone who
Has thought about you all day long
And is glad to see that you are home

And you’ll be glad it found you
When love is all around you
            In the morning light

You’re going to have your ups and downs
Some days smiles and some days frowns
But you just take things one day at a time
The rain will stop the sun will shine

As I look back on all our storms
We always ended in each others arms
And I guess that we must have got it right
We’re still holding on in the morning light

In the morning light
Still hold on, still hold on
