It was a long fall
When I took that leap
Thought I could dive
Always land on my feet
It was a long fall
Stomach in my throat
Thought I could see
Would I sink or would I float?
You promised that you’d catch me
I drempt that once you did
Dreams don’t always come true
And down the cliff I slid
Free fall slows the mind and thickens the heart
Something you don’t know when you start
Learning to fly, the greatest task
No one to answer whatever you ask
A story you cannot learn
It must be felt
To jump and fly
Without a belt
I jumped into your arms
I thought I saw you there
Lifted by the wind
Now I’m free in the air
Now I’ve settled on the ground
It’s a good place for now
Look back at the sky
Look and wonder how
How you let me go
How you begged to stay
How you were never there
All those dreams fade away
Free fall slows the mind and thickens the heart
Something you don’t know when you start
Learning to fly, the greatest task
No one to answer whatever you ask
A story you cannot learn
It must be felt
To jump and fly
Without a belt
I jumped into your arms
I thought I saw you there
Lifted by the wind
Now I’m free in the air |
