She Took My Breath Away

©2005 Elmo Taylor Recordings

Written By: David Rhodes

I was sitting all alone
With my broken heart
In a small out of the way café
When she walked in
On a summer breeze
And took my breath away

She took my breath away, Took my breath away

She sat down next to me
And when she smiled
The sun was in her eyes
She laughed and talked
Like we knew each other
All of our lives

She took my breath away, Took my breath away

As I was about to leave
She took my arm and asked
“Would you spend the day with me?”
We walked and we talked
And she held on tight
It seemed like a dream

She took my breath away, Took my breath away

As the day turned to night
We started to dance
Too soon it was dawn
I closed my eyes as we kissed
When I woke, She was gone

She took my breath away, Took my breath away

I was walking all alone
With a smile on my face
Had it just been a dream?
When I felt a hand in mine
And I heard her ask
“Would you spend your life with me?”

She took my breath away, Took my breath away
